Another college football week in the books and more transfers making a huge impact. Here are some standouts from week three that stood out to me.
QB Caleb Williams (and more at USC)
Williams, who followed Lincoln Riley from Oklahoma, completed 25 of 37 passes for 284 yards and two touchdowns while adding two rushing touchdowns as well in a win against Fresno State. But he wasn’t the only one as the running back duo of Austin Jones (Stanford) and Travis Dye (Oregon) combined for 212 yards and two touchdowns on 23 carries and the wide receiver duo of Jordan Addison (Pittsburgh) and Mario Williams (Oklahoma) combined for 12 receptions, 146 yards and one touchdown. USC is TransferU.
WR Johnny Wilson, FSU
Another example of the talent lost by Herm Edwards at Arizona State, Wilson had seven receptions for 149 yards and two touchdowns in a win over Louisville.
QB Michael Penix, Washington
The Indiana transfer completed 24 of 40 passes for 397 yards and four touchdowns in a huge home win over Michigan State. This is the Penix we saw in 2020.
QB Bo Nix, Oregon
The oft-criticized Auburn transfer completed 13 of 18 passes for 222 yards and two touchdowns and added three rushing touchdowns in a must win against No. 12 BYU.
LB Daiyan Henley, Washington State
The Nevada transfer continues to show what a steal he is as he had 13 tackles, three tackles for a loss and three sacks in a win over Colorado State.
QB Dillon Gabriel, Oklahoma
The UCF transfer continued to shine on Saturday against Nebraska while completing 16 of 27 passes for 230 yards and two touchdowns and rushing for 55 yards and one touchdown on 6 carries.
QB Jayden Daniels, LSU
The Arizona State transfer completed 22 of 37 passes for 210 yards and one touchdown, while rushing for 93 yards and one touchdown, during a 31-16 victory over Mississippi State.
