Ole Miss has been active in the Transfer Portal, earning commitments from three different receivers. Tre Harris, the 6’2″ commit from Louisiana Tech stands out above the rest as he was an All-Conference talent this past season, playing in Sonny Cumbie’s Leach-esque Air Raid offense.

Coming out of Comeaux High School in Lafayette, Louisiana, Harris played quarterback but was recruited as a wideout. He was a 3-Star recruit, according to 247Sports. He committed to Louisiana Tech in July of 2019 and was a part of the Recruiting Class of 2020.

Once on campus, Harris took some time to adapt to the receiver spot, only appearing in seven games for the Bulldogs and recording only one reception. He took a major step forward in 2021, catching 40 passes for 562 yards and four touchdowns.

Harris decided to stay at Louisiana Tech following the hiring of Texas Tech Offensive Coordinator Sonny Cumbie and it paid off for him this season. He caught 65 passes for 935 yards and 10 touchdowns on the season for the Bulldogs.

With two seasons of eligibility remaining, Harris will now move up to the SEC and entrust his career with offensive savant Lane Kiffin. He brings size and athleticism to Ole Miss and will thrive under the spread offense Kiffin runs. Equipped with a solid run game and seasoned quarterback Jaxson Dart, the Rebels could see themselves thriving in 2023 with the edition of Tre Harris!

Harris could be the next DK Metcalf or AJ Brown to come out of Ole Miss, it’s no shock he decided that as his transfer destination this season!
