While the portal’s leading assist-men like Ta’Lon Cooper (South Carolina) and Elijah Hawkins (Minnesota) are off the table, let’s look at the top dime-droppers that are remaining in the portal.
1 Trey Woodbury
The Utah Valley transfer also made our TOP SCORERS AVAILABLE list yesterday. Woodbury is an interesting portal prospect due to his eligibility situation. Woodbury dished out 4.7 assists per game for Utah Valley last season before entering the portal. However, upon his first appeal for a medical waiver for another year of eligibility, his waiver was denied. According to a report by Brice Larson, he is appealing again.
2 Andre Curbelo
The former Illinois guard played this past season at Saint John’s before hopping back into the portal. Curbelo averaged 4.3 assists per game for the Johnnies.
3 Zyon Pullin
The UC Riverside star, who is also the leading scorer in the portal, dished out 4.2 assists per game last season. He is down to five: Florida, Gonzaga, LSU, Michigan, and Xavier.
4 Kyree Brown
The New Hampshire standout passed out four assists per game last season to go along with his 10.9 points per contest. On Sunday, Brown told The Portal Report that he has heard from the following programs: UCSB, Eastern Illinois, NC Central, Alcorn State, Pacific, Hampton, Bowling Green, Buffalo, Delaware, Robert Morris, CSU-Northridge, Cal State Fullerton, North Alabama, Idaho, Georgia State, UTEP, Siena, and New Mexico State.
5 Deshawndre Washington
The New Mexico State guard dished out 3.8 assists per game.
6 Jakari Spence
The Monmouth guard dished out 3.5 assists per game. Portland State and Louisiana Monroe reached out to him early on in his recruitment process, he told The Portal Report.
7 Kam Woods
Woods, from NC A&T, also made the top scorers available list yesterday. He put up solid numbers all-around last season, including 3.3 assists per game.
8 Gianni Hunt
The Sacramento State product dished out three assists per game last year.
9 Alex Anderson
The Alabama State guard dished out 3.2 assists per game last season to go along with his 9.9 PPG. He told The Portal Report that he has a visit set up with Incarnate Word and has been hearing from several D1 and D2 programs.
10 Cam Spencer
One of the top available players in the portal, the Rutgers transfer averaged 3.1 assists per game.
