College Football Transfer Breakout Team – Week Three

This week in college football, transfers shined for just about every team from coast to coast. Check out The Portal Report’s Transfer Breakout Stars of the Week for Week three of the CFB season.

PAYTON THORNE, AUBURN

The Michigan State transfer put up huge numbers, passing the ball consistently and breaking out on the ground as well.

Thorne finished with 282 passing yards and 125 rushing yards, to go along with three touchdowns.

THOMAS CASTELLANOS, BOSTON COLLEGE

Castellanos put the nation’s No. 3 team on notice, going off against Florida State in a close loss.

He finished with more than 300 passing yards to go along with 95 yards on the ground in the ACC battle.

TJ FINLEY, TEXAS STATE

Finley went off again this week, throwing three touchdowns and 250+ yards. Finley also scurried in for two rushing touchdowns in the huge week.

BLAKE WATSON, MEMPHIS

Watson ran for 169 yards with one touchdown, and also hauled in six catches for 68 yards through the air.

The Old Dominion transfer has shined for Memphis all year long!

NATE MCCOLLUM, UNC

McCollum hauled in 15 (!!) receptions for 165 yards and a TD this weekend. Just a monster showing from the Georgia Tech transfer.

JACOB ROBERTS, WAKE FOREST

Roberts had 13 tackles, including four tackles for loss and three sacks. What a strong outing for the NC A&T transfer.
