Top 3 Transfer Running Back Performances of the Week

Published

on

With all the extraordinary QB talent in CFB this year, particularly transfers (Nix, Penix, Sanders, Williams, Daniels), the running backs have flown under the radar. These transfer RBs had huge games this past weekend and have earned a spot in TPR’s running back performances of the week.

  • Ismail Mahdi: Texas State SO

Mahdi has been possibly the top transfer running back in the country to start the year, and he kept that pace Saturday. Following an explosion two weeks ago against Nevada where Mahdi went for 216 and two touchdowns, he did it again vs Louisiana. In a tough loss for the Bobcats on Saturday, Mahdi continued to lead the offense alongside fellow transfer TJ Finley. He rushed for 188 and added another touchdown and will look to continue to tear up defenses Saturday against UL Monroe.

  • Logan Diggs: LSU JR

As Brian Kelly’s running back at Notre Dame, Diggs ran for 320 yards and 3 touchdowns. In an expanded role as Kelly’s running back at LSU, Diggs has exploded f0r 488 and 4 TDs in just 5 games. This past weekend in a hostile environment at Mizzou, Diggs rushed for 134 and a touchdown, helping lead the Tigers to a huge win alongside ASU transfer QB Jayden Daniels.

  • Jawhar Jordan: Louisville JR

In the biggest game in recent history for the Louisville Cardinals, Syracuse transfer running back Jawhar Jordan had a game to remember. In a 33-20 win over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Jordan gashed the Irish defense for 143 and two touchdowns on a whopping 6.8 yards per carry. Jordan has rushed for over 100 yards in 4 of 6 games so far for the Cards, and looks to continue to produce great numbers for a Louisville team that is having its best season since Lamar Jackson was on campus.
