Transfer Spotlight: All-Conference Forward Primed for Huge Final Season of CBB

Memphis forward Jordan Brown is one of the top transfers of the year.

One of the top transfers of the offseason will be kicking off his final season of college basketball on Monday night.

Memphis forward Jordan Brown, who transferred in from Louisiana, was ranked as the No. 5 overall transfer of the cycle this past offseason by The Portal Report’s DUNK database. Brown is a 6-foot-11 forward who has earned many different honors throughout his five-year collegiate career, including two-time All-Sun Belt honors, Pac 12 Sixth Man of the Year, and Sun Belt Tournament MVP.

The former five-star recruit chose Nevada out of high school. He then transferred to Arizona, sitting out one year and then playing 26 games the next season (2020-21) for the Wildcats. He then played each of the last two seasons at Louisiana, averaging massive numbers as a senior last year. Brown scored 19.3 points per game and 8.6 rebounds per game while hitting 57% of his field-goal attempts.

Brown now joins Penny Hardaway’s squad with a group of fellow vets. Jahvon Quinerly joined the squad from Alabama, Caleb Mills from Florida State, David Jones from Saint John’s, Jaykwon Walton from Wichita State, and others.

I’ve got my eye on Brown to become one of the most effective bigs in mid-major basketball, and you should too. Brown and the Tigers will take on Jackson State at 8 p.m. on Monday night. That game can be found on ESPN+.
