WVU Basketball is off to a shaky start after quite possibly the longest offseason in college basketball history. After grouping together a great transfer class, West Virginia can only play eligible transfers Jesse Edwards, Quinn Slazinski and Jeremiah Bembry. The Mountaineers do have a chance to add back transfers Kerr Kriisa (suspension), RaeQuan Battle (waiver) and Akok Akok (health) down the line.
Let’s take a look at how WVU’s eligible transfers are doing so far.
Quinn Slazinski, F – Iona/St. John’s
Stats through six games: 16.3 PTS, 4.5 REB, 2.5 AST
Jesse Edwards, C – Syracuse
Stats through six games: 15.8 PTS, 10.7 REB, 2.0 BLK
Jeremiah Bembry, G – Florida State
Stats through four games: 0.5 REB, 0.8 AST, 4.3 MIN
West Virginia has a chance to get back on track with interim HC Josh Eilert as they host St. John’s and Pitt in back-to-back home games over the next week. WVU will continue to play with just eight scholarship players until Kriisa at least can come back.
