6.) Keyshawn Hall – George Mason

While it seemed expectations were low heading into the 2023-24 campaign under first-year head coach Tony Skinn, the Patriots have impressed. Behind a rebuilt squad loaded with transfer talent, George Mason has run out to a 13-2 record and a 2-1 start to conference play with the programs only losses coming against Charlotte, VCU, and then No. 17 Tennessee.

Out performing early expectations to lead these Patriots has been UNLV transfer Keyshawn Hall, who picked George Mason over offers from Louisville, Georgetown, and Texas. Averaging a team-leading 17.3 PPG and 9.7 RPG, the 6-foot-7 sophomore wing already has eight double-doubles this season and has managed seven consecutive double-digit scoring efforts with A10 play now underway.

5.) Adama Bal – Santa Clara

With the departure of Brandin Podziemski to the NBA this past offseason, the question of who would step up for Santa Clara heading into 2023-24 loomed large for head coach Herb Sendek. Quickly, that question was answered with the acquisition of Paris, France native and Arizona transfer Adama Bal who’s led the Broncos to an 11-6 record and a 2-0 start to the WCC campaign.

Averaging a team-leading 15.9 PPG, 3.0 APG, and 1.0 STLPG, Bal and the Broncos have cruised through the competition with wins at Stanford, over Oregon, and against Washington State. All of which were highlighted by 20+ point contributions from Bal. As Santa Clara prepares to face No. 21 Gonzaga tomorrow night, Bal will have to set the offensive tempo if these Broncos are to have a chance at another major upset.
