Malik Dia, Belmont F

Malik Dia showed a lot of potential during his freshman year at Vanderbilt. Despite averaging just 2.6 points per game, Dia scored a season-high 14 in a tough game with a top tier program in Kentucky. In addition, Dia snagged 10 rebounds in just 13 minutes.

Dia’s potential has been unleashed in his first season at Belmont. The 6-9 sophomore is averaging 17.3 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. Dia has been nearly unstoppable in the post. In a win over Drake, Dia scored 32 points on 5-8 from three as well as seven rebounds.

Tanner Holden, Wright State G

One of the more unusual transfer scenarios, Wright State guard Tanner Holden started his career with the Raiders, left for a year at Ohio State, and is now back to finish his career with Wright State. Holden decided to transfer to Ohio State following the best year of his career where he averaged 20.1 per night and was first team All-Horizon League.

Now, Holden is back with the Raiders, and continuing to light it up. The senior has started every game averaging 17.4 points per game. In addition, Holden is having a solid season on the boards with 6.2 per contest.
