The Big East is consistently one of the most competitive conferences in college hoops. The conference boasts six NCAA tournament teams currently according to Joe Lunardi’s latest bracketology. Transfer talent has been a major player in the conference’s incredible success. TPR dives into the top ten scorers in the Big East at this point in the season.

10. Chico Carter Jr., DePaul G: 11.8 PPG

The DePaul Blue Demons have struggled mightily to start the season, getting off to a 3-15 (0-7) start. However, Chico Carter Jr., a South Carolina transfer, has been great in his first year in the Big East. Carter Jr. started his career with two seasons coming off the bench at Murray State which was followed by another with the Gamecocks. Following a season of starting for South Carolina, Carter Jr. is leading DePaul in both scoring and assists. Carter Jr. has struggled of late after a hot start, but if DePaul is going to get its first conference win, Chico will need to be a major factor.

9. DJ Davis, Butler G: 12.6 PPG

After playing three seasons close to home at UC Irvine, Moreno Valley native DJ Davis decided to finish his college hoops career at Butler. The first of three transfer Bulldogs on this list, Davis has helped provide a spark for Butler’s offense. The 6-1 senior scored 20 plus points in three straight games at the start of conference play, including 22 against No.1 UConn.
