The Big Ten is year in and year out a top conference in college basketball. This season, a loaded group of transfers is having a major impact. TPR looks at the ten leading transfer scorers in the Big Ten.
10. Lance Jones, Purdue G: 12.5 PPG
Mackey Arena has not seen this kind of electricity from the guard position since Carsen Edwards’ magical run to the Elite Eight in 2019. Lance Jones decided to transfer from Southern Illinois after four seasons as a starter. His pace and energy for the game have helped Purdue to the No.7 scoring offense in the country. Jones flies around the floor and is a blur in transition. Lance scored a season high 24 in Tuesday’s 99-67 win over Michigan.
9. Ace Baldwin Jr., Penn State G: 13 PPG
Ace started every game he played during his three-year tenure at VCU. The 6-1 guard averaged just over 10 points per game in his time with the Rams. Baldwin Jr. won the Atlantic 10 Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year in 2023. Baldwin Jr runs the offense smoothly alongside sophomore Kanye Clary. Ace averages a team high 4.8 apg and leads the team with 2.8 steals per contest.
