Under former head coach Eric Musselman, the transfer portal was pivotal to the Arkansas men’s basketball program.

Headlined by additions such as Tramon Mark, Ricky Council IV, JD Notae and Stanley Umude who all emerged from the portal during Musselman tenure, at times it seemed Arkansas would contact almost every available transfer (over 100+ last offseason).

Now, with Musselman departing for USC and legendary head coach John Calipari stepping away from Kentucky to join Arkansas, the Razorbacks have quite predictably continued that transfer portal success.

This offseason, Calipari has already secured five transfer portal commitments and was able to convince Trevon Brazile to return, paired alongside a freshman class with three five-star prospects.

With just 10 names currently listed on Arkansas’ active 2024/25 roster according to the official athletics website, it’s hard to imagine Calipari is done scouring the transfer portal for talent just yet.

However, it seems like the Razorbacks primary rotation is set for the time being so let’s take a look at the five offseason additions that will be joining the program for year-one of the Calipari-era in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Jonas Aidoo – Tennessee

A former top-100 prospect who spent the past three seasons at Tennessee, Aiddo was most recently selected to the 2023/24 All-SEC Second Team and Defensive Team after averaging 11.4 PPG, 7.3 RPG and 1.8 BKPG for the Vols.

At 6-foot-11, Aidoo was one of the best defenders in the nation last season and looks to be a very high level rebounder as well finishing top-75 nationally in offensive rebounding percentage according to KenPom.com

After starting 36/36 games for Tennessee during the 2023/24 campaign, Aidoo is an easy slot into the starting lineup for the Razorbacks and should be a vital contributor on both ends of the floor.
