3.) Jackson Paveletzke – Ohio

As a freshman at Wofford, Paveletzke was a dynamic scoring threat averaging 15.1 PPG while shooting 49% from the field and 39% from three to earn himself an All-Southern Third Team selection as well as the Conference’s Rookie of the Year award.

Earning an opportunity to transfer to Iowa State prior the 2023/24 season however was a much different story, as Paveletzke’s defensive struggles saw him fail to secure consistent minutes.

With the Kimberly, WI native averaging just 3.4 PPG while playing 10.5 MPG off the bench, Peveletzke hit the portal once again this offseason and landed with Jeff Boals and Co. over at Ohio.

At 6-foot-3, Paveletzke’s an undersized guard and the mid-major ranks are a much better fit for his high-flying and fast paced offensive game. He’s undoubtedly one of the nation’s most talented scorers and seeing him in the MAC with the Bobcats seems like the perfect fit to help return Paveletzke to his freshman form.

4.) Nils Cooper – UC Davis

Yet another piece departing from Pepperdine this offseason, Cooper is a former top-100 prospect who averaged just 5.0 PPG and 2.9 RPG as a bench contributor for the Waves this past season.

While finding limited minutes on a poor team, Cooper was still able to showcase his abilities as one of Pepperdine’s better defenders with notable length and athleticism for a 6-foot-5 guard/wing. Throughout the summer, he’s been featuring for Sweden’s U20 team at the Nordic Championship where Cooper has consistently demonstrated his physicality in attacking the rim, a knockdown shooting ability and his on court leadership.

The Aggies and head coach Jim Les had a lot of talent to replace this offseason including the programs leading scorer in Elijah Pepper meaning the backcourt will need to step up to keep UC Davis competitive in the Big West.

Arriving in Davis, CA provides Cooper with an opportunity to stay close to home and as he brings a certain pedigree to the program with a former top-100 prospect tag, expect him to be an important piece for the Aggies next season.
