Josiah Trotter LB, West Virginia to TBDÂ
Following a 52-15 loss to Texas Tech to end their season, West Virginia fired head coach Neal Brown. Josiah Trotter, the team’s top linebacker, entered the portal following the coaching change. However, with Rich Rodriguez hired, Trotter is still considering a return to the Mountaineers. Trotter will take visits to Washington and Missouri, while keeping his options open. The true freshman finished the season second on the team with 93 total tackles and added two pass breakups. Be sure to keep a close eye on Trotter’s status as he contemplates his options.Â
Jackson Arnold QB, Oklahoma to TBDÂ
Finally, a consensus five-star out of high school, former Oklahoma gunslinger Jackson Arnold. Arnold played minimal snaps his freshman season waiting behind Dillon Gabriel. After Gabriel’s departure for Eugene, Arnold started the season for the Sooners, throwing for four touchdowns in a 51-3 opening win over Temple. However, in Oklahoma’s first season in the SEC, Arnold struggled to find momentum. The sophomore threw for just 1,421 yards in ten games as the starter and the offense mustered just 24.3 points per game, its lowest in recent history. With Jeff Lebby being hired as the new head coach at Mississippi State and Van Buren’s departure, watch for Arnold to be a Bulldog next season.Â
