Most notably, Charlotte and Marshall each have seen 30+ entries in this portal cycle.
For Marshall, players not content with the departure of former head coach Charles Huff initiated the process. Following a 10-3 season and a 31-3 victory in the Sun Belt Championship, Marshall decided to not extend Huff’s contract. After opting out of their bowl matchup with Army, Marshall and new head coach Tony Gibson have their work cut out for them reshaping the roster.
Charlotte leads the nation with 34 portal entries. After the firing of Biff Poggi, the Niners brought in former Ohio head coach Tim Albin. Expect a completely reformed roster for each of these squads in 2025.
