Report: Texas WR Xavier Worthy Turns Down Offer to Enter Portal

According to a report by 247 Sports, Texas receiver Xavier Worthy turned down an offer from “at least one” Power Five football program to enter the transfer portal and subsequently commit to the program.

The report claimed that Worthy’s offer was a “significant” six-figure offer. Worthy is a 6-foot-1 receiver who totaled 981 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns last season for the Longhorns. The Fresno, California native was committed to Michigan prior to ending up at Texas. Worthy’s situation has reminded many of the recent saga involving Pittsburgh WR Jordan Addison, who is not in the transfer portal, but is rumored to be considering a transfer to USC for a large NIL deal.

“There is no other reason for Addison than money,” TPR Football Analyst Mike Farrell said. “His NFL Draft status will be as high as ever if he stays at Pitt, he’s just that talented. And he has never appeared to be unhappy.”

Farrell: Jordan Addison’s Departure Has to Be About Money
