1. Andre Curbelo, G, Illinois
Curbelo’s stellar freshman year led to nation-wide hype ahead of this past year, but he struggled with injuries and did not meet expectations. Averaged 7.5 points and 3.2 assists per game, and has multiple power fives chasing after him that believe in his upside.
2. Sam Sessoms, G, Penn State
Sessoms recently entered the portal after two seasons at Binghamton and then two seasons at PSU, averaging 11.2 points per game this past year. The 6-foot guard shot 42% from three-point range this year, and is one of the well-rounded veterans in the portal.
3. Ryan Young, F/C, Northwestern
Young played three seasons for the ‘Cats, averaging nine points per game this season. Off the bench, he set a career high in usage rate at 26.2%.
4. Qudus Wahab, C, Maryland
Wahab entered the portal recently after transferring from Georgetown to Maryland last year. His numbers at Maryland didn’t quite match his stellar year at Georgetown
5. Joe Toussaint, G, Iowa
Toussaint played three seasons at Iowa, averaging 6.5 points per game in 2019-20. However, he never quite caught back up to that number in his next two seasons. Experienced guard has high major options already, including West Virginia, where he is currently visiting.
6. Isaiah Thompson, G, Purdue
Thompson, a 6-foot-2 guard, started 20 games for Purdue this season, averaging 4.2 points per game and shooting a career-high 44% from the field.
7. Brandon Johns Jr., F, Michigan
Johns, a 6-foot-8 forward, played four years at Michigan, averaging a career-high six points per game in his sophomore season.
8. Justin Ahrens, F, Ohio State
Ahrens played four years at Ohio State, increasing his average minutes every season. Scored 4.8 and 5.7 points per game the past two seasons.
9. Khristian Lander, G, Indiana
The former five star could not carve out a role at Indiana, but enters the portal with a name that people recognize and some high-major suitors that have recruited him before.
10. Rob Phinisee, G, Indiana
Phinisee played four years for the Hoosiers, playing big minutes his first three years and coming off the bench in a smaller role this season. Solid veteran prospect.
