The transfer portal opened on Dec. 4 for 30 days, recently closing. It will open for all players once again on May 1 for 15 days in the spring window. However, according to NCAA rules, now that Saban has retired, Alabama players can enter now for the next 30 days.

Prior to Saban’s reported retirement, more than 2,000 division one players had already entered the transfer portal this offseason. 18 Alabama players entered the portal prior to Saban’s retirement, headlined by running back Roydell Williams, WR Ja’Corey Brooks (Louisville commit), Kristian Story (Kentucky commit), and others.
