After receiving interest from the likes of South Carolina, NC State, Coastal Carolina, and Troy, Williams, one of the top FCS transfer prospects, is a great addition for UNLV and head coach Barry Odom.
9.) Cameron Ward – Miami
After a season in which Ward, a Washington State transfer, set new career-highs with 3,736 passing yards, 25 touchdowns, just seven interceptions, and at a completion percentage of 67%, Ward had suitors from Florida State to Auburn. However, having previously declared for the 2024 NFL Draft, Ward returned to college football and announced on Jan. 13 his intentions to transfer to Miami.
In Ward, the Hurricanes are getting a quarterback who’s comfortably one of the transfer portal’s top passers but is also able to carry the ball in from the red zone or on goal line situations. Announcing Miami as his destination, Ward is already one of the early top-12 Heisman Trophy candidates ahead of the 2024 season.
