4. DJ Horne, NC State: 28.0 FPTS/G
DJ Horne’s collegiate career has taken him all over the country. Horne transferred to Arizona State after two years at Illinois State. Finally, it was time for DJ to come back to his hometown, Raleigh, at the conclusion of last season. Horne leads the Wolfpack in scoring and has them sitting at the top half of the conference standings. Horne has been on an absolute tear as of late. He topped off four straight 20-point performances with 31 in a rivalry loss at Wake Forest.
3. Jamir Watkins, Florida State: 29.6 FPTS/G
Watkins never received starter minutes during his two years at VCU. In his first season at Florida State Watkins continues to prove that was a mistake. The 6-7 forward leads the Noles in scoring, rebounding, assists and steals. In two huge FSU wins over Colorado and Syracuse, Watkins tallied double-doubles. Watkins scored 27 against ‘Cuse in a huge conference win that kept FSU in the ACC race. Florida State finds themselves on the outside looking in at the field of 64. Look for Watkins to be the main factor for FSU trying to make a late season push.
