With football season officially ending following Mecole Hardman’s Super Bowl clinching score, the offseason is fully under way. Top programs like Ohio State, Ole Miss, and Texas have been dominating the portal. Meanwhile, powerhouses like Alabama, LSU, and Notre Dame struggled with this transfer window. I’m stoked to watch the five transfers highlighted below and believe they will have a massive impact on their new teams.

Quinshon Judkins, Ohio State RB

BIG10 defensive coordinators likely had nightmares when Judkins announced his transfer to Ohio State. Judkins’s career production tops any back in his class, and quickly made him the most highly touted back in the portal. Ryan Day pulled in the No.8 transfer class led by former Alabama five-stars Julian Sayin (QB) and Caleb Downs (S).

I believe Judkins has the chance to make the biggest immediate impact of the three. Judkins took the nation by storm his freshman year, rushing for 1,567 yards and 16 touchdowns. He earned AP SEC Newcomer of the Year, SEC Freshman of the Year (Coaches), and a Doak Walker Award Semifinalist nomination.

Judkins followed an unbelievable 2022 performance with another dominating season in 2023. The 5-11 tailback rushed for over 1k yards once again. In addition, he added 15 more touchdowns, good for 31 in just two seasons. I expect the backfield of Judkins and returning TreVeyon Henderson to be the best in the nation. In fact, I believe they could top the performance of arch-rival Michigan’s backfield during their championship run.
