Apostolos Roumoglou – UConn
Undoubtedly, the 6-foot-7 Xanthi, Greece native is the most difficult of the bunch to decipher having played just 81 minutes across two seasons with the Huskies, but he’s a two-time National Champion and was highly efficient in those limited minutes.
Averaging just 1.0 PPG, Roumoglou still notably shot 47% from the field, 46% from deep and managed an offensive rating of 179.1 while featuring in less than 10% of the teams minutes during 2023/24.
I’d have to imagine that playing a year behind a more experienced wing in somebody like Neskovic would do well for Roumoglou’s development as one for the future of this Richmond program.
B. Artis White – Western Michigan
Mooney’s history with undersized guards bodes well for White’s arrival in Richmond but with how injury prone the 6-foot Western Michigan transfer can be it’s tough to know just how much he’ll contribute.
Averaging career-highs as a sophomore with the Broncos in 2020/21, the following season saw White manage just 7.7 PPG before taking a medical redshirt year in 2022/23. After a bounce-back campaign this past season, averaging 10.2 PPG, 3.2 RPG and 3.2 APG while shooting 39% from three-point range, it’s clear White still has a lot to offer.
While he doesn’t bolster a great defensive record given his size, if White can improve his offensive efficiency and stay on the court he’ll be the primary point guard to lead these Spiders forward.
