6.) Claudell Harris – Boston College
After averaging 17.4 PPG and 2.3 APG at Charleston Southern last season, Harris has handled the jump from the Big South to the ACC with ease now averaging a consistent 14.4 PPG and 3.0 RPG. Particularly over the past two months, Harris has been elite, notching a career-high 29 points against Lehigh, opening conference play with 15 points in a loss to Wake Forest, and helping to secure the Eagles first ACC win with 26 points over Georgia Tech.
Boston College currently sits with an 11-7 record and are just 2-5 to kick off conference play, but behind Harris, the ACC should be on watch for one of the conference’s best backcourts come March.
5.) Joseph Girard – Clemson
Following four seasons at Syracuse for the Glens Falls, NY native, averaging 16.4 PPG in 2022-23, Girard has been the major reason for the Tigers early season success after briefly securing a spot in the national rankings having climbed as high as No. 13 in early Dec. Despite Girard averaging a solid 14.9 PPG, 3.7 RPG, and 3.4 APG, more recently conference play has been tough to Clemson opening with three straight losses and an upset loss to Georgia Tech for a 3-4 record.
Nonetheless, Girard has remained competitive for the Tigers with 25 points in a win over Pitt, 26 points to help take down Boston College, and finishing out with 10 points, seven boards, and four assists in a weekend win at Florida State.
