Corey Flagg Jr., Missouri LB
At just 6-0 230 pounds, Corey Flagg Jr. lacks the size most inside linebackers possess. However, what he lacks in size, he makes up for in hard hitting and rapid pursuit of the ball carrier. Flagg Jr. showed potential with jarring hits and impressive speed in high school but received just a three-star rating.
After leading North Shore to the Texas Conference 6A championship and earning defensive MVP honors, Flagg Jr. decided to commit to Miami. Corey received limited snaps his freshman year. In 2021, Flagg Jr. broke out. The Houston native uncorked 60 tackles, three sacks, and an interception.
Flagg Jr. saw similar success the last two seasons with the Canes. He added 104 more tackles and 2.5 sacks. During a stretch of back-to-back overtime wins for Miami last season, Flagg Jr. totaled 15 tackles and a forced fumble.
Corey’s decision to transfer to Missouri is huge for a Tigers team with a hole at linebacker. Eliah Drinkwitz and co. landed a stud in Flagg Jr., and he will make an immediate impact for Mizzou next season.
